SolarShield Triple Layer Glass

The glass is of course the most vulnerable part of your window. That is why we use three layers of glass and a fourth laminate for protection.

Laminated Interlayer – This layer is two panes of glass that are fused together with a strong, nearly unbreakable laminate. It keeps your window intact even when the glass is broken.

Double Pane – Double pane glass has been the standard for years providing comfort and energy savings. Our windows are filled with inert Argon gas and improves the thermal insulation of the window.

Low-E Coating – One of the more important features added to windows is a coating that allows visible light to enter the room but blocks harmful UV and IR light. UV rays fade and damage floors, furnishings, and drapes. IR becomes radiant heat increasing the thermal energy in your home meaning your AC has to work harder.

What happens when something hits the window?

In the event flying debris hits the window the outer pane may break but the two interior pieces of glass sandwiched over laminate will stop the object from entering the home. It keeps the “seal” of the interior of the home so that it minimizes the likelihood of a roof uplift which could destroy your home.
